Like books? So do I, that's why I made this thread. No, you don't? Well what the fuck are you doing on a book thread then? 

Anyway, now that's out of the way, here are some of my favorites, please share your own, or just random book-related discussion

The Belgariad - David Eddings. Right off the bat, a lot of these are going to be series. This one is one of the first fantasy series' I ever read, and it's awesome plain and simple. Not reinventing the fantasy genre by any means, however a solid series with characters that feel almost real. 


The River of the Dancing Gods - Jack L Chalker. Two words describe this one FUCKING WEIRD Just when you think you know what's going on, they flip the script on you. One of the funniest book series' I have ever read.

Right now I'm reading;

Eddie Van Halen by Neil Zlozower. It's basically a coffee table photo book with quotes from musicians and insiders. I have the companion Van Halen one too.

Mud, Sweat & Tears by Bear Grylls. If you ever want to feel like a pussy, try reading about SAS selection training or climbing Everest. Makes you realise he's not all Hollywood haha.

Tattoos & Tequila by Vince Neil (and some other guy). Pretty loosely constructed but so far enjoyable. Never realised how much he hated Nikki and Tommy, even now, while they still work together.

You should read Nikki's books. my wife did and she loves them. Whole new perspective on the band

I have read (and own) The Heroin Diaries. Love it. Isn't his second book like, half made up of his photography? I'll be certain to be picking up This Is Gonna Hurt down the line (the Sixx AM album of the same name is worth a listen too. Great band)

Also read Tommyland and The Dirt. Not sure I'm looking forward to the movie of The Dirt - there's a lot of scope for getting it wrong and that just begins with casting! I've heard some bad suggestions.

I read a good deal of them in High school, including keeping one from 10th to 12th grade before turning it back in so they'd give me my report card.

Now reading a collection of George Orwell's Essays. They are pretty interesting, but I'm in no mood for reading, so it's taking its freaking time.

The book I love/hate best right now is in my avatar, LOL.

Just finished reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. Wonderful book! The movie looks to be very good when it hit theaters this year.

Am on a little bit of a Fiction kick, as I am normally prone to nonfiction. I'm about to read Ready Player One and No Safety In Numbers.

Non-fiction the latest I read was

1. Penn Jillette's books, "God, No!" and "Everyday is an Atheist Holiday"

Absolutely hilarious books, with some of the funniest stories that will have you laughing for weeks, all while showing you Penn's unique philosophy on life.


2. The Republic of Pirates - Colin Woodard
Wonderful book on several pirates (Blackbeard, Vane, Black Sam etc) and the man that took their empire down. Absolutely fascinating read from start to finish, and well sourced to boot.

Nic Pizzolato's Galveston is my current read. I'm doing different than most, first the novel, then True Detective.
